Located just up the street from Oakledge Park's beach and bike path, Borough Gallery & Studio is housed on the edge of Burlington's fast-evolving South End Arts District, nestled inside the former Lumiere North American Company building, a historic 1902 structure created in the architectural style of Parisian industrial design, which later became the birthplace of color photography.
Borough was founded in 2009 on the idea that creativity breeds more creativity, and is thus better when shared. It has since become a resource for many artists, writers, makers, and musicians, providing both a studio and a platform, shedding light on emerging area artists while in turn highlighting Burlington's South End as an area where art and culture have a profound impact and influence.
Exhibitions are scheduled throughout the year, and a small collection of artists can regularly be found inside Borough's old brick walls, burning the midnight oil.
